The British Columbia Council for International Education (BCCIE) talks about CIBT Education Group’s initiatives to develop student housings in Vancouver. BCCIE believes that companies like CIBT help address the need for quality student housing in one of the country’s fastest-growing international student communities.
There are currently 100,000 foreign students living in the Greater Vancouver area where most international colleges and universities are located. The rental vacancy rate in the city is now less than 1% which means that a boost in demand for student housing will continue to grow in the next years.
CIBT’s latest hotel development, The Viva Suites, located in downtown Vancouver is set to provide 200 beds for international students over the next six months. There will be more developments being planned by the company in both Richmond and Vancouver. CIBT’s CEO, Mr.Toby Chu, says that these are all part of a long-term project to build housing for up to 5,000 students over the coming years.
