MTI started in 1988 as a Career Training Centre. Since then they have committed to providing the highest quality career training and education possible. In those early days, the school was known as Metro Training Institute, and was consisted of a small handful of enthusiastic, committed, and idealistic educators.
Over the years, the school attracted an awesome group of specialized instructors, and was able to developed first-class programs after frequent consultations with agencies and employers in each of the program areas.
In the mid 1990’s the school’s name was shortened to Metro College, and in 2003 it then became MTI Community College. The new name reflected more appropriately to the school’s commitment to the community its dealing with – including Federal and Provincial Governments, as well as individual British Columbians and international students.
MTI offers a variety of diploma and certificate programs in Child Family and Community Studies, Healthcare, Hospitality and Tourism and Business as well as offering many options for International students. There are experienced instructors, small manageable classes, and a friendly and supportive learning environment that is geared towards meeting or exceeding industry standards.
MTI is one of BC’s premier west coast accredited private training career colleges. With 6 campuses located in Vancouver, Burnaby, North Road, Surrey, Chilliwack, and Abbotsford. The Provincial Government wanted to ensure consistent standards of quality for private training institutions doing business in British Columbia.
