Glenlyon Norfolk School is a co-ed independent school that offers classes in Junior Kindergarten to Grade 12. It is the only school in Victoria and on Vancouver Island that is both an International Baccalaureate World School and a member school of the Round Square Conference of Schools. These two highly-respected international programs of education set GNS apart from other schools.
As an IB school, GNS strives to go beyond the regular school curricula. Students are encouraged to actively engage in the learning process through an inquiry-based approach. GNS teachers have received special training to deliver the IB program. As one of only twelve schools in Canada that offers three IB programs (Primary Years, Middle Years, Diploma), GNS takes pride in this distinctive “ÏB Advantage”.
The school also delivers a holistic value-based learning experience through its affiliation with the Round Square which promotes ideals in internationalism, democracy, environmental stewardship, outdoor activity, leadership and service. Round Square schools provide students with opportunities to explore diverse communities and cultures through service projects, student and teacher exchanges, and student-led conferences about cultural diversity.
The school mission is to encourage students “to do their best in truth and courage.”
Glenlyon Norfolk School has campuses located in Victoria, BC, Canada.
